Overview
Overview
Mount Meru, Tanzania's second-highest peak, stands 4566 meters above sea level within Arusha National Park. Meru offers a single route to the summit that can be attempted over three days. Most alpinists utilize Meru as an acclimatization stop before climbing Kilimanjaro. Unlike Kilimanjaro, climbing Mount Meru requires the presence of an armed ranger. The walking safari will take you past herds of African buffalo, zebras, and black and white colobus monkeys.
